What I liked most was how wonderfully uncomplicated the whole experience felt. There was no packed itinerary and no rushing from one stop to another. We simply headed out to sea, settled in and enjoyed the changing colours of the sky, the views of Makarska and Biokovo, and that lovely evening breeze you only really notice once you’re away from the shore.

The Relaxed Atmosphere on Board
From the moment we set off, the mood was completely laid-back. This isn’t the kind of excursion where you feel you need to keep checking what comes next. You can sit back, chat, take photos or simply watch the coastline slowly change in the evening light.

For me, that was exactly the appeal. After a full summer day in Makarska at PLACES Dalmacija by Valamar, sometimes you don’t want another big activity. You just want to be on the Adriatic and enjoy the moment.
An Easy-Going Host Makes All the Difference
The atmosphere also had a lot to do with our host. Friendly, pleasant and wonderfully easy-going, he made us feel comfortable from the start. There was no overly formal commentary or sense of being hurried through an organised tour. Instead, it felt more like heading out on the water with a local who genuinely enjoys showing guests Makarska from a different perspective. That relaxed approach, but at the same time very professional, suited the experience perfectly.
Short, Sweet and Easy to Fit Into Your Evening
And perhaps my favourite thing about this sunset tour: it doesn’t take over your entire evening.
It is short enough to fit naturally into your holiday plans, which makes it perfect after an early dinner or before heading back into Makarska for a later one. You get the feeling of having done something special without having to plan your whole evening around it.
Sometimes the simplest experiences stay with you the longest. A boat, a pleasant host, warm evening air and the sun slowly disappearing over the Adriatic – for me, that was more than enough.
