Mitas 4 Islands is one of the TOP 5 stage team races in the world, which will be held for the sixth time this year from 21 to 25 April, lasting for 5 days. Cyclists will ride a prologue and four stages on 4 islands – Krk, Rab, Cres and Lošinj – while traversing more than 250 kilometres with an ascent of 5,500 meters. A truly impressive undertaking!
The cyclists will ride the 13 km prologue on Krk Island in Baška, and the second day is dedicated to a 71 km long stage from Baška to Krk. On the third day, the race moves to Rab Island, where a 65 km long circular stage begins in Lopar. That stage is followed by the longest 73 km ride through Cres Island, while the finale will be held on the fifth day with a 40 km long circular stage on the island of Lošinj.
If this has sparked your interest in MTB adrenaline island adventure at least a tiny bit, we strongly recommend you to watch this video for an additional boost and to find out how the teams performed last year. SPOILER! It was un–for–get–table!
Shannon Boffelli, a professional MTB cyclist and one of the current participants in the race:
Without a doubt, Croatia offers up some of the very best riding I’ve seen so far. And I don’t mean groomed flow trails. I’m talking about narrow and rough trials, for real punks, that never let up from the start to the finish on some of the magnificent beaches of Lošinj Island
It is worth noting that only teams of two adults can participate at this race in several categories, depending on whether they are licensed UCI riders and on their gender and age group.
What is especially important is the fact that, during the race, all riders will be provided with a top-notch bike service: from welcome drinks, meals after each stage and final awards and farewell gathering, to constantly available technical and medical assistance in case of any unforeseen situations, bike washing facilities, storage room for their equipment and anything that participants may need.
